סיכום, ביקורת ומסקנות

נוכחותם של מיומנויות תקשורתיות יכולה להביא להבנה עמוקה יותר לסיבת הביקור האמיתית וליעילות תקשורתית מצד מספק השירות הרפואי (Frymoyer & Frymoyer, 2002). נאמר שהן מאפשרות גישה להבנת החולה את מצב בריאותו ועוזרות לנותן השירות הרפואי לצמצם פערים בין הבנתו את מצב בריאותו של החולה לבין נקודת המבט של החולה. (Baarts, et al, 2000). שהן מספקות אינפורמציה לגבי היבטים פסיכולוגיים וסוציאליים ועוזרות לבנות יחסי אמון וקרבה ארוכי טווח (Galin, et al, 2008). כמו כן, שהן מביאות לשיפור בתוצאות הרפואיות ובתפקוד הקוגניטיבי, הסוציאלי, כפי שהוצג.

מצד שני, היעדרן יכול להביא לכך שדאגותיהם האמיתיות של החולים, יעברו ללא הבחנה כשמספק השירות הרפואי, מתמקד בהיבטים הרפואיים (Lang, et al, 2000). כמו כן, הערך המוסף המתבטא באמצעות התקשורת הבין אישית יהיה חסר וישנה אף אפשרות, לביטויים שליליים (Abdulhadi, et al, 2006; Ambady, et al, 2002). בנוסף, היעדרן של מיומנויות אלו, יכול להביא למגוון התנהגויות והשפעות על הרופא כגון, התעלמות או שלילה של רצונם של החולים בשיחה בעלת נושאים פסיכולוגיים לנוכח אי נוחות בהצגת נושאים מסוימים (Wissow, et al, 2005). כלומר, להשפעתם הבלתי נמנעת של תהליכים טרנספריאלים (Hughes & Kerr, 2000). לבסוף, גם לתנאי מסגרת העבודה, ישנה השפעה בהיעדר מיומנויות אלו (Mauksch, et al, 2008).

ספרות מחקרית זו, מהווה בסיס ויסוד התומכים בחשיבות התקשורת הבין אישית שבמסגרת מערכת היחסים הרפואית. יחד עם זאת, נטען שלמרות נקודת המבט ההוליסטית והממוקדת אדם המאפיינת את הרפואה הלא קונבנציונאלית, תחום מחקר זה הוזנח וההתמקדות הופנתה כלפי בחינת השפעתם של ההיבטים הביו רפואיים של הטיפול. כאמור, מכיוון שרוב המחקר בתחום זה מגיע מהרפואה הקונבנציונאלית (Institute of Medicine, 2001), בכדי לתמוך בהכללה של מחקרים אלו על הרפואה הלא קונבנציונאלית, הוצגו מספר הנחות יסוד המאפשרות השוואה זו. הנחות יסוד אלו, הביאו לביטוי את ההנחה שההיבטים השונים המאפיינים את השפעתה של התקשורת הבין אישית במסגרת מערכת היחסים הרפואית, יכולים להיות מוכללים גם על הרפואה הלא קונבנציונאלית.

לאחר כל זאת, חשוב לציין שמטרתה וכוונתה של השוואה זו ושהצגתה של הספרות המחקרית בנושא, לא היו בכדי לטעון שבטיפול הלא קונבנציונאלי התקשורת הבין אישית אינה קיימת, או שמסגרות הלימוד אינן מודעות לחשיבות התקשורת הבין אישית ושאינן מתייחסות לכך במסלולי הלימוד. לא הייתה הכוונה לטעון, שהמטפלים חסרים במיומנויות תקשורתיות ושהן לא באות לביטוי במפגש הרפואי, או שמטרות הטיפול אינן נענות ותוצאותיו שליליות. דיון זה אינו בה לתת ביקורת!

מטרתו, להצביע על היעדר תחום מחקר זה בענף הרפואה הלא קונבנציונאלית ולשקף פערים אלו בהתייחסות לענף המחקר הקיים בנושא זה ברפואה המערבית. מטרתו להציע כי פיתוחו של ענף מחקר המתייחס למערכת היחסים והתקשורת הבין אישית שבמפגש ייחודי זה, יאפשר הבנה טובה יותר של מערכת היחסים הרפואית והשפעותיה על המטופל והמטפל. מטרתו להציע שהשלכות מתובנות אלו יוכלו להשפיע על תוכניות הלימוד השונות ושתוצאותיהן יהיו בייעול הטיפול ובייעול התמודדותם של המטפלים עם התכנים הבלתי נמנעים שבמפגש זה ויותר מכל, מטרתו לתרום לאיכותה של הרפואה הלא קונבנציונאלית, באופן בו היא משתקפת בעולם המערבי.
